Why is there so much work involved in going on vacation? So far, today has not been a relaxing start to our week off.
Made a list of things to do last night after Savage Beatdown - all the errands, laundry, and odd bits of stuff to collect, plus the packing. 42 To-Do's. This morning, we sorted all the dirty laundry, threw a load into the washer, then jumped in the mini-van to start our errands. Sports Authority to buy socks, shoes, swimsuits. Target, to buy the socks and shoes we couldn't find at Sports Authority. Drop off the CJ's shattered iphone at iSickbay (pretty damn, good, BTW - thanks to Julie for the great recommendation), which he broke yesterday during the Wine Country Classic. An hour and a half later, the kids and I are sitting in a hot car, waiting for CJ and his phone. Delaney, annoyed by Ely, Ely, begging for lunch, and me pretending to not hear them. Hot, grumpy. CJ insists I go home to rest (translation: "you're being a bitch and should take a nap so I don't have to listen to you.") I refuse - there's too much to get done. Then to Great Clips to get the kids haircuts. Bought some blue and gold hair goop for the kids. Ely agreed to not make annoying sounds during the haircut, so he was rewarded with lunch at Applebees. Too much salt. Back to Sports Authority to try again for shoes for me, sunglass straps for CJ, a couple of hand-held mini fans (for those long lines at Disneyland). Then back to Target for the socks CJ forgot to pick up for Delaney. Then home. Then CJ back out to the mini mart to buy some soda. Transfer first load of laundry to the drier, start next load of laundry - 3 more to go before I can start packing...

We're Going to Disneyland!
As promised to the kids many months ago, we are about to head south for a family vacation at Disneyland. We'll be staying 4 nights at the Grand Californian Hotel (that part of the trip is for me and CJ) and 3 days in the parks. I'm betting, though, that the kids spend most of the time at the pool.
